It is with regret that the band announces the resignation of Phil Bowater, former drum major and quartermaster. We thank Phil for his assistance in elevating the overall dress and deportment of the band, and extend our most heartfelt gratitude for his tireless efforts in securing travel arrangements for our trip to Scotland last year. We wish Phil good fortune as he pursues other opportunities in the pipe & drum community!

Since the Queen Mary 2's debut in 2004, Cunard enthusiasts have wondered if the grand ocean liner would ever meet her legendary predecessor, the RMS Queen Mary. As part of Queen Mary 2's highly anticipated maiden call to Los Angeles, the ship wowed West Coasters with an historic meeting on Thursday, February 23 when the two ships united in Long Beach harbor for a "royal rendezvous." Members of the 42nd Highlanders Regimental Pipes & Drums were on board both ships during this historic meeting of two queens, providing entertainment for spectators on the shore as well as passengers at sea. Keep an eye on the band's Multimedia Gallery for photos of the event, which will be posted soon. Or for more information about the rendezvous, read the event recap at www.thequeenmarysmeet.com.

Well done, lads & lasses! If you missed their performance, you can watch a clip here.
