The
Online Edition of the 42nd Highlanders Regimental Pipes & Drums Newsletter
The Hackle© is a newsletter published by the 42nd Highlanders
Regimental Pipes & Drums. Within these pages we hope to present
to you, in small vignettes, the story of our band so that you may
get to know who we are and what we do. We are not the typical competition
pipe band you see at the Highland Games. We are a service band.
We are made up of military veterans, police, firemen, and dedicated
community servants that feel a need to give back to their country
the honor she so richly deserves. Our band has performed, both
in formation and individually, hundreds of funerals and memorial
services for American and Allied military veterans. These services
demonstrate to all in attendance our desire to impart to the remaining
family members "the thanks of a grateful nation."
